The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says it may be only a matter of time before a new, more contagious form on the COVID-19 virus shows up in Fond du Lac County. Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says news of a second case of the variant detected in Wisconsin, less than a month after it was first seen is concerning. Health officials are concerned the novel variants could undo the progress that has been made in reducing the number of new positive cases in the state, and Mueller says that’s why it’s important to continue mitigation measures.
