The leader of a pro-wolf group says an early wolf hunt is not necessary to control wolf predation on farms. Melissa Smith says an early hunt was voted down last month by the Natural Resources Board after over 1400 citizens and tribal authorities testified to shut it down. Smith says there needs to be a more transparent process in planning for a hunt, which the DNR was already setting up for November. Smith says property owners already have the right to kill wolves that cause problems.
