The Fond du Lac County Sheriff says recent intake court speeding cases illustrate a misconception that young males are the ones with the lead foot. During a recent three week cycle, Fond du Lac judge Peter Grimm, said he handled an unusually high number of speeding tickets issued for 25 miles an hour or higher over the posted speed limit. The top five offenders, cited for speeding in excess of 100 miles an hour were all female and seven of the top ten were female. A 17 year old Milwaukee girl received a six month license suspension for speeding 113 miles an hour on Interstate 41. Waldschmidt says the number of arrests for speedlng violations, including eluding officers has been on the rise during the pandemic. Waldschmidt says his deputies are out in force in an effort to get motorists to slow down.
