Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a garage and caused significant damage to the house in Fond du Lac. Shortly before 9:30pm Sunday firefighters were called to the scene at 52 West Bank Street for a reported detached garage fire with explosion. The fire was brought under control in less than an hour. The homeowner told firefighters a large propane tank inside the garage may have been the source of the explosion. The fire spread to the nearby single family structure. Another detached garage and house sustained heat damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
