The Fond du Lac County Sheriff says all of the inmates who contracted COVID-19 during an outbreak in the county jail last month have fully recovered. Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says the outbreak remained contained to two dorms where it was initially reported, and did not spread to other dorms or housing units within the jail. Seventeen of the 19 inmates who tested positive were asymptomatic. Waldschmidt says there is currently one inmate of the 266 currently in custody that is Covid-19 positive. That inmate remains under Covid-19 healthcare protocols with no symptoms. Waldschmidt says it’s unknown how the initial outbreak occurred.
