A North Fond du Lac special education teacher is being recognized. Sarah McDowell has been selected as a 2021 Kohl Fellow award winner. McDowell says she was flattered just to be nominated for the award. “I do what I do, I love what I do,” McDowell told WFDL news. “Teachers don’t teach for recognition, they teach because they love kids.” McDowell says her ultimate goal is to have her students want to be in school. Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says McDowell is one of the best educators he has ever worked with. McDowell is one of 100 teachers to receive the honor. She is now up for the Wisconsin Teacher of the Year Award.
