The Fond du Lac Police Department has hired another police officer, the fifth officer hired in the last few weeks. Assistant chief Aaron Goldstein says officer Gwen Schneider comes to the Fond du Lac PD from the Fox Valley Metro Police Department where she worked as a Community Service Officer. Last month the Department announced the hiring of four new officers to fill vacancies in the department. Goldstein says one of the latest new hires, Da Neng Vang, officially started on the police force this week. “He is trilingual. He speaks Hmong, Thai and English,” Goldstein told WFDL news. Seven new police officers have now been hired in the last eight months.
