4-9-21 fdl police chief thanks community for approving public safety referendum

Fond du Lac Police Chief Bill Lamb is thanking the community for supporting public safety.  On AM 1170s Between the Lines program Chief Lamb thanked Fond du Lac residents for voting in favor of a referendum to add six new police officers and six new firefighter/paramedics.  “Thank you so much for the citizens in Fond du Lac,”  Lamb told WFDL news.  “The information the Fire and Rescue and Police Departments shared…the voters obviously listened, they turned out, and they voted.”  “On behalf of the men and women of the Police Department and the Fire and Rescue Department, thank you so much.”    Lamb says over the course of the next several months the department will begin the recruitment and hiring process.  He says the new officers will come on board, in what he describes as an aggressive phased-in approach,  shortly after January 1.   Lamb says the new officers will be placed on peak shifts during the late morning to early evening hours.  The referendum will add more than $1 million annually to the property tax.
