The executive director of Fond du Lac Festivals says event organizers are taking steps to make sure Walleye Weekend is safe for everyone. After being cancelled last year due to the pandemic, the announcement was made this week that the festival will be held this year June 11, 12 and 13. Fond du Lac Festivals director Pete Wilke says safety will always be the priority, and organizers will continue to monitor public health guidelines. He says there will be some modifications to the footprint, set-up and events. “We made the decision bearing in mind we don’t know what the future holds,” Wilke told WFDL news. “We’re going to make real world, real time decisions and continue to monitor public health guidelines. Safety will always be a priority.”
