A Fond du Lac man has been convicted of reckless injury and recklessly endangering safety but not guilty of attempted homicide in connection with a drug-related shooting incident that injured two people one critically. Following a five day jury trial this week a Fond du Lac jury found Delaney Watt guilty of all but three charges. The shooting happened September 12, 2018 outside the Eldorado Apartments on Forest Avenue. The shooting injured a 17 year old Fond du Lac girl and left a 26 year old Fond du lac man paralyzed from his chest down. Watt was arrested the next day on a drug charge and has been held in the Fond du lac County Jail since then. “This was a brazen act of violence showing no regard for human life and we will aggressively prosecute anyone that endangers the safety of those in our community,” District Attorney Eric Toney said. “The jury’s verdict sends a strong message to anyone that is thinking of committing these types of horrific crimes, you will be caught, you will be prosecuted, and you will be held be accountable.” Watt faces a maximum penalty of 200 years in prison when he is sentenced.
