Three newly elected Fond du Lac city councilmembers will be sworn into office Tuesday evening. Challengers Keith Heisler, Tiffany Brault and Patrick Mullen were victorious in this month’s spring election, defeating an incumbent and two other challengers. They will be sworn into office at Tuesday night’s council organizational meeting. The council will also select a new president at the meeting. Council vice president Kay Miller says she would be “honored” if she is elected to serve as council president for the next year. Miller has been the council vice president, and often the lone vote in opposition to a Lakeside Park alternate master plan over the last year and a half. With the election of three new council members who also oppose the alternate master plan Miller suddenly will find herself in the council majority on that issue. Miller says she believes the election was a referendum on the Lakeside Park issue. The council will also make committee assignments at the meeting.
