A recount continues by hand Tuesday in the race for a third seat on the Fond du Lac School Board. Joe Guyette requested the recount after losing to incumbent Susan Jones by 17 votes. Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg says she can’t remember the last time a candidate for local office requested a recount after losing a race by double digits. She says in the last couple years there have been recounts in races decided by single digits, with no change in the final outcome. Freiberg says school district taxpayers will have to pay for the recount.
