The Dodge County Sheriff says he’s not sure why an elderly woman failed to stop at a stop sign at a county highway intersection over the weekend before her vehicle was broadsided by a straight truck. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the intersection of County Highways A and C has been the scene of similar crashes over the years. It’s one of those intersections we have in the county that we always scratch our heads. For some reason people have a difficult time with the stop sign at that intersection,” Schmidt told WFDL news. “It’s a stop sign that comes offf of Highway C onto Highway A by Fox Lake and we’ve had a number of these crashes at that location.” Schmidt says he’s not sure if the woman saw the truck before impact.
