4-22-21 foxconn deal-hintz react

The Wisconsin Assembly minority leader says he hopes a new deal with Foxconn is more realistic of scale and reduces the burden on taxpayers.   The Wisconsin Economic Development Board approved the deal with reduced tax breaks for it’s scaled back manufacturing facility in southeast Wisconsin.   The original deal  struck in 2017 by then governor Scott Walker included nearly $3 billion in state and local tax incentives.  State representative Gordon Hintz of Oshkosh says its basically a do over.  “The reality is what was proposed four years ago was never going to happen,”  Hintz told WFDL news.  Hintz says there was never going to be 13,000 jobs as Foxconn originally promised.  Under the new deal Foxconn would provide a little more than 1,400 jobs.
