Two Beaver Dam police officers are being recognized for their work in a high profile homicide case. Lieutenant Terrence Gebhardt and Officer Meagan Scott have received the Dodge County Executive Law Enforcement Association Officer of the Year Award for their work in the successful prosecution of Ulisses Medina Espinosa. Medina Espinosa was recently sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison for the 2019 murder of his ex-wife. Officer Scott arrived second at the scene of the homicide, and used her ability to speak and understand Spanish to gather critical evidence in the moments after the killing. Lt. Gebhardt arrived shortly after to supervise and lead the investigation. According to A press release these officers, along with other investigators gathered the evidence necessary to bring a strong and compelling criminal case against Medina Espinosa.
