Fond du Lac County Highway officials are urging people to drive carefully in highway work zones during the construction season. This is National Work Zone Safety Awareness week. Fond du Lac County Highway Commissioner Tom Janke says eliminate distractions, like cell phones. Janke says motorists need to slow down and always expect the unexpected. This year’s theme is Drive Safe. Work Safe. Save Lives. Wednesday is Go Orange Day. People are asked to wear something orange in support of highway safety.
