A newly elected Fond du Lac city councilmember says he requested Lakeside Park be put on this week’s city council meeting agenda because that’s what the public expects. Councilmember Keith Heisler says he along with Tiffany Brault and Patrick Mullen were elected because of their opposition to a Lakeside Park alternate master plan that includes building a restaurant near the park Lighthouse. In closed session the council will discuss a controversial enhancement agreement with the business group. “This has been the single worst contract I’ve ever seen negotiated in government,” Heisler told WFDL news. “I can’t believe they (council) did it. It’s just a train wreck.” Heisler, Mullen and Brault all pledged prior to the election that if they were elected they would vote to have the city pull out of the contract and hold an advisory referendum.
