5-31-21 infant death investigation

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an infant.  The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call Monday morning from a residence on Gulig Road in the town of Calumet  that a five month old boy was not breathing and not responsive.   A dispatcher began CPR protocol over the phone with the caller until paramedics arrived on the scene.   Despite resuscitation efforts the infant was pronounced dead.  The death […]

5-31-21 galloway house grand reopening

A grand reopening was held over the weekend for the historic Fond du Lac Galloway House and Village.  Activities on Saturday were geared toward adults, and children and families on Sunday.   The Fond du Lac County Historical Society recently announced a  $1.6 million capital campaign to renovate and restore the Galloway House and Village was complete.  Both days included Living History Tours with performers in period costumes.

5-31-21 milwaukee man charged in fdl tavern shooting

5-31-21 fdl railroad crossing repair work

The Fond du Lac Public Works Department is alerting motorists about railroad crossing repair work on Arndt Street.   Canadian National will be completing railroad-crossing repairs starting Tuesday and motorists will need to utilize the Satterlee Street Railroad Crossing during this time. The closure is expected to be in place for one week.

5-31-21 nearly half of wisconsin prison inmates fully vaccinated

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Nearly half of the people in custody in Wisconsin's prisons and youth facilities are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The rate exceeds the vaccination rate for Wisconsin as a whole, after initially lagging behind. The Wisconsin Department of Corrections shows nearly 9,000 people, or 47.2%, of the eligible prison population, have been fully vaccinated as of Tuesday. That's compared with 41.7% of eligible state residents overall.

MIAMI (AP) — Milwaukee guard Donte DiVincenzo’s season is over. Tests showed Friday that the Milwaukee guard tore a ligament in his left ankle during Game 3 of the Bucks’ NBA playoff series against the Miami Heat. 5-31-21 feds warn wisconsin it may lose $1.5 billion in school aid if republican plan passes

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The U.S. Department of Education is warning Wisconsin’s state superintendent of schools that the state could be in jeopardy of losing $1.5 billion in federal funding if a Republican education plan becomes law. 5-31-21 two more covid-19 deaths in fdl county

For the first time in a month there have been  two COVID-19 deaths reported in Fond du Lac County.    The Fond du lac County Health Department says a 94 year old man and 69 year old woman died from COVID-19.  There have now been 113 COVID-19 deaths in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.  The number of new positive cases remain low with only four new cases reported Friday.
