A Republican from Menasha has announced he is entering the Sixth Congressional District race, challenging incumbent congressman Glenn Grothman. Douglas Mullenix would square off against Grothman in a Republican primary election in August 2022. The 31 year old Mullenix says Grothman has been in congress for four terms and “It’s time for a change in the district’s leadership.” Mullenix says he is running for congress because “Wisconsinites deserve a new leader and one who will listen to them and help create a better life for them.” Mullenix says he will spend the first 120 days of his campaign holding town halls, in-person and virtual meetings and visiting communities throughout the district. According to a press release Mullenix worked in management consulting, focused on improving financial stability for medical practices and strategic growth for start-up companies. Before that he worked in private equity and venture capital for an array of industries.
