5-22-21 halloween killer motion to dismiss case denied

A Fond du Lac judge has denied a motion to dismiss a case to determine if  the so-called Halloween killer Gerald Turner will be released or committed to a mental health facility.  Attorneys for Turner argued that Turner does not meet the legal definition of a sexually violent person.   The prosecuting attorney argued Turner was convicted of crimes deemed sexually violent.   Judge Paul Czisny denied the motion.  Turner was convicted of raping and murdering nine year old Lisa Ann French in Fond du Lac while she was trick or treating on Halloween in 1973.  A status conference is scheduled for June 4.
