Over 2,000 people attended the first Food Truck Festival this weekend at Fond du Lac's Lakeside Park. The event was held Sunday on Oven Island. In addition to eight Food Trucks featuring a variety of different types of food, there was live music and several family activities, plus a Lakeside Park History display.
A former Oshkosh West High School business teacher has been named the next superintendent of the Oshkosh School District. Shorewood School superintendent Bryan Davis has been hired to the post. The school board will officially approve the hiring at their meeting Tuesday. Davis has a doctorate in urban education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a master's in educational administration from UW-Milwaukee. The Fond du Lac city council is in support of the city of Fond du lac joining an effort to lobby for bringing passenger rail service to the area. The executive director of the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership is encouraging Fond du Lac small businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to apply for new grant money. Motorists are heading out for the long Memorial Day Holiday weekend and AAA is forecasting travel will rebound to more than 37 million, with over 700,000 Wisconsinites expected to take a trip this holiday weekend.
