The Fond du Lac Police Department has identified the victim of an apparent drowning in the Fond du Lac River. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says the victim has been identified as 37 year old Mathew Rosiere of Fond du Lac. Klein says the body was discovered in the river near the Ninth Street Bridge Friday evening and preliminary autopsy results indicate drowning was the cause of death. Klein says many people may not be aware that the current in the river may be stronger than it appears. Klein says if you are looking for a place to swim to cool off there are better places than the river.
