The director of the organization that runs Walleye Weekend couldn’t be happier with how things went this year. The event returned to Fond du Lac’s Lakeside Park this past weekend after it was cancelled last year due to the pandemic. “To put it simply, I think it was awesome,” Fond du Lac Festivals director Pete Wilke told WFDL news. Wilke says a lot of people came out and enjoyed themselves. “…the weather was fantastic, it was close to perfection in my opinion.” Wilke says Walleye Weekend is the major fundraising event for many local non profit organizations.
