The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has released more information about the inmate who died in his jail cell Friday night. Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says 73-year-old Donald Forqurean of Fond du Lac was in custody awaiting trial on charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless endangering safety, and operating a firearm while intoxicated, all stemming from a Fond du Lac Police Department investigation into a shooting that occurred in January of 2020. According to the Sheriff’s Office Forqurean suffered from pre-existing medical conditions and was housed in a medical cell. The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office is the independent agency conducting the investigation in conjunction with the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office and Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
