The head of Fond du Lac’s tourism agency says $140 million in stimulus money targeting tourism will help tourism and entertainment businesses hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. Governor Tony Evers announced last week the federal grant money will be available for the lodging industry, movie theaters, live event venues, minor league sports and other entertainment and tourism businesses. Destination Lake Winnebago Region’s Craig Molitor says his office hopes to receive some grant money to help market the Fond du Lac area. Molitor says the lodging industry will receive $75 million. “Obviously that’s a nice chunk of change,” Molitor told WFDL news. “That would I think genuinely help these hotels pay the bills. This is a really tough industry to be in and every little bit helps.”
