The Fond du Lac School District is launching a pilot teaching program using federal coronavirus relief aid. The Fond du Lac School Board has approved the creation of nine Teachers on Special Assignment positions for each elementary school in the district. School Board president Mark Jurgella says the positions are designed to increase a need for student support and instructional leadership as the district transitions out of the pandemic. The positions will focus on student engagement, behavioral support, attendance, PBIS, supporting students with disabilities and other duties assigned by the principal. The TOSA positions would be filled by internal candidates, and will be a two year pilot funded through ESSER 2 funding.
