The public health services supervisor with the Fond du Lac County Health Department says you probably have a better chance of being struck by lightening than having the latest rare reaction to the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. U.S. regulators announced this week they were adding a new warning to J and J’s COVID-19 vaccine about links to a rare and potentially dangerous neurological reaction. The government said there have been reports of 100 people who got the shot having the reaction, a tiny fraction of the nearly 13 million Americans who have received the one-dose vaccine. Fond du Lac County Public Health Services supervisor, Laura Berndt says the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the risks. Berndt says there is actually a greater risk of being hospitalized or dying from COVID-19 if you are not vaccinated.
