The Fond du Lac County Clerk says she is concerned about a call by the Republican head of the Wisconsin Assembly elections committee for a forensic election audit. Committee chair, representative Janel Brandtjen says she will ensure there is a comprehensive, forensic examination of ballots cast in the 2020 presidential election. Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg says nobody will be touching Fond du Lac County election equipment without a court order. The broadened investigation comes amid pressure from former president Donald Trump and other national Republicans to take a closer look in Wisconsin. Freiberg says there is no evidence of widespread fraud. Freiberg says it’s time to move on.
