Nobody was injured and an Illinois man is in custody following a road rage shooting incident on Highway 23 in Fond du Lac County. The incident happened shortly after 11:30pm Saturday on Highway 23 west of County Highway M. A semi-truck driver told dispatchers the driver of a vehicle had just shot at his trailer while traveling on Hwy 23 westbound from CTH M in the Township of Rosendale. The caller indicated the suspect vehicle was continuing westbound on Hwy 23 toward the City of Ripon. City of Ripon Police Officers conducted a high risk traffic stop, taking the suspect into custody without further incident. The suspect admitted firing a pistol from his moving vehicle toward the moving semi-trailer. Sheriff’s Deputies observed three bullet holes in the trailer from the reported incident which also damaged property inside the trailer. The suspect, a 56 year old male from Downers Grove, IL is in custody at the Fond du Lac County Jail and being held on multiple charges for recklessly endangering safety with the use of a dangerous weapon.
