A retired Ripon College economist says senate passage of a $1 trillion infrastructure plan is a positive step. Paul Schoofs says polls show the vast majority of Americans support the physical infrastructure the bill targets. Schoofs says the question is how long the bill could be held up in the House. “Leader Pelosi has said that we’ll put it on hold so to speak until we also get motion on this much larger $3.5 million human infrastructure package that they also want to pass,” Schoofs told AM 1170s Between the Line program. Schoofs says the plan includes a $65 billion investment in broadband that the White House says will deliver reliable, affordable, high-speed internet to every household.
