A longtime Fond du Lac School Board member is stepping down. Mark Strand is resigning from the board due to job commitments. Strand was first appointed to the board in 2010, and elected to his first two year term in 2011. In his resignation letter, Mark Strand shared that his upcoming work schedule now limits his ability to attend Board of Education meetings. “My employment schedule significantly conflicts with my commitment as a Board member, I wouldn’t be able to honor my responsibilities,” Strand said “It has been such a privilege to have interacted and known the professional people of the District, superintendents and present and past board members.” “I found myself continuing to learn and together I believe we made sound and just decisions for the District and the community. In closing, I will always cherish that I was involved in what my parents called the ‘Teaching Profession.”
