8-30-21 waupun garage fire

Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a garage in Waupun.  Smoke and flames were visible when firefighters arrived on the scene at 516 Grace Street about 11:15am Friday.  Fire chief B.J. DeMaa says it appears a lightning strike may have started the fire.

8-27-21 motorcycle fatality-fdl county

An Eldorado man died after his motorcycle crashed coming to rest in Kettle Moraine Lake.   The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says at 4pm Thursday the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve on Highway F,  slid across the roadway,  down the embankment and struck a pier.  The motorcycle and the driver came to a rest in Kettle Moraine Lake.   The 51 year old motorcycle operator was pronounced dead at the scene.  […]

8-27-21 judge sentences 84 year old man in 1976 murders

MARINETTE, Wis. (AP) — A judge has sentenced an 84-year-old man to consecutive life sentences in connection with a 1976 double homicide. A jury convicted Raymand Vannieuwenhoven in July of killing David Schuldes and Ellen Matheys at a Marinette County park.   Judge James Morrison handed down the sentence Thursday. WEST BEND, Wis.
