The Fond du Lac School Board president says the district will learn if a mask optional policy was the right approach as the school year begins and students and staff are gathered in classrooms and buildings during this latest COVID-19 surge. School Board president Mark Jurgella says superintendent Dr. Jeff Fleig is strongly encouraging staff and students to wear masks inside school buildings. Meanwhile the school district is taking applications to fill two board vacancies. Board member Nick Teifke resigned this week over concerns about the district’s optional mask policy.
