2021 Seal Coating Program
Schedule: Week of September 13, 2021
Description of work: The work will include placing a mixture of liquid asphalt and fine aggregate over the entire street. The application fills small cracks, cover minor road deterioration, and extend the life of the roadway.
September 13 to September 17: The street included in the seal coat program include Cherry Lane, Glenwood Ave, Glenwood Court, National Ave from Johnson St south to Fond du Lac Ave, Royal Ave, and N Peters Ave from Johnson St to Scott St. The contractor will have several phases for application.
Traffic impacts: The streets will be closed to local traffic for a short period of time. Parking will not be allowed on the street during the times of street cleaning and micro surfacing. Temporary “No Parking Signs” will be placed along the street.
Doty Street from Follett Street to Scott Street
Schedule: April 2021 through October 2021
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
September 13 to September 17: The utility contractor will continue cutting road down to subgrade and placing base. Existing curb and gutter, sidewalks, and driveway aprons will be removed and temporary aggregate placed before concrete work begins.
Traffic Impacts: Doty Street remains closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs. Doty Street is accessible during off hours.
W. Cotton Street from Military Road to Macy Street
Schedule: April 2021 through October 2021
Description: The project includes gas main and service relocations, reconstruction of sanitary sewer and laterals, storm sewer and laterals, water main and laterals, roadway, sidewalk and approaches, street lighting and restoration/landscaping.
September 13 to September 17: Underground utilities are installed.
Traffic Impacts: Cotton Street remains closed to through traffic. Residents, business owners, and customers may access properties past “ROAD CLOSED – LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY” signs
WIS 23 Expansion – Urban Section – WI DOT Northeast Region Location/limits: WIS 23 and various intersecting local roads between US 151 and Seven Hills Road
Schedule: April 19, 2021 to fall of 2022
Description of work: This work is part of the WIS 23 4-lane, on-alignment expansion project in Sheboygan and Fond du Lac counties.
September 13 to September 17: The contractor will continue to work on Highway 23 eastbound from Highway 151 to County UU, on Highway 23 westbound from Taft Road to Seven Hills Road, construction of the new retaining wall along Maryhill Drive, the new box culvert extension south of Whispering Springs, and the new Highway 23 eastbound bridge over County K.
Traffic impacts: CTH UU (South of STH 23) – Closed
CTH UU (North of STH 23) – Closed
WB shoulder closure Whispering Springs to 7 Hills Road – Closed
WIS 175 (Portion of S Main St) – WI DOT Northeast Region
Location/limits: Resurfacing between US 151 and south Fond du Lac/Dodge County line
Schedule: August 16 to mid-October 2021
Description of work: This is a resurfacing-level project that will mill 2-inches and pave 2-inches of 7.1 miles of WIS 175 in the project work zone. Construction also includes beam guard replacement, concrete barrier, and culvert pipe replacement/repair, or cleaning.
September 13 to September 17: Milling and paving operations are scheduled to begin with patches and the railroad crossing, followed by mainline milling and paving. Concrete crews will continue working on barrier wall installation.
Traffic impacts: WIS 175 will be closed to through traffic. Access for local travel will be maintained.
Detour: Traffic will be detoured on I-41 at the County K or USH 151 interchanges.
