Residents were evacuated following a gas leak in a Fond du Lac neighborhood. Fire chief Pete O’Leary says contractors working on a street reconstruction project accidentally struck a gas line at the intersection of Doty and Arndt Streets Monday morning. O’Leary says nearby residents and businesses were evacuated and as a precaution Alliant Energy turned off power to about 45 customers until the leak was repaired.
