A new Domestic Violence Homicide report shows that 68 people in Wisconsin lost their lives to domestic violence in 2020. End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin Homicide Prevention Program Director Sara Krall says the statistics are sadly predictable. In 2020. domestic violence homicides took place in 17 Wisconsin counties with a rate of about one death every five days. Krall says more than half of the homicides involved firearms and over a third of perpetrators who used a gun were legally prohibited from possessing a firearm. Krall says End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin supports stricter gun laws to prevent that from happening, including universal background checks.
