As the number of people being hospitalized for COVID-19 continues to rise in Fond du Lac County SSM Health is hoping a treatment can prevent severe outcomes for people who are at high risk. SSM Health Ambulatory Operations Administrator Missy Tate says monoclonal antibody treatment can prevent progression of the disease in these patients if administered within days of the start of their symptoms. Tate says while it depends on the patient, the treatment overall has had good success. Tate says SSM Health monitors COVID-19 patients to see if they may be a candidate for this treatment. She says if you were tested elsewhere you can call your doctor to see if you are a candidate for the treatment.
