The Fond du Lac city manager says he is not surprised that the city of Fond du Lac’s population growth outpaced the state’s rate of growth over the past decade. According to the U.S. Census data, the city grew 3.9 percent during the last ten years and now has a population of 44,678. City manager Joe Moore says a boom for demand in the labor market and growing availability in affordable housing contributed to the population increase. Fond du Lac’s 3.9-percent growth is double the 1.4 percent growth of the preceeding decade, 200-2009. The state grew at a rate of 3.6 percent from 2010 to 2020.
