10-29-21 memo: laws didn’t prevent turning over ballots to auditors

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — State and federal laws did not prevent Madison election officials from providing auditors access to election records, according to a memo by the Legislative Reference Bureau released by the Republican Senate majority leader. 10-28-21 gas prices jump

Gas prices in Wisconsin and across the country continue to jump.  Retail gas prices are averaging $3.38 cents in the United States, rising roughly 50 percent in 2021, surpassing pre-pandemic levels.  In Wisconsin gas prices have gone up 12 cents this month.  State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmusz says the statewide average for unleaded regular is $3.14 a gallon, and a little over $3 a gallon in the Fond du lac area.  Jarmusz […]

10-28-21 significant drop in local unemployment rate

There was a significant drop in the local unemployment rate in the latest reporting period.  The Dodge County unemployment rate fell from 3.1 to 2.5 percent in September.  In Fond du Lac County the September jobless rate stands at 2.7 percent, down from  3.5 percent in August.  The city of Fond du Lac's unemployment rate fell from 4.1 to 3.2 percent.  Unemployment rates decreased  in all of Wisconsin's 72 counties and 34 largest cities […]
