Earlier this week marked the 20th anniversary of perhaps the most significant infrastructure project in the city of Fond du Lac’s history. Twenty years ago this past Monday the Johnson Streeet Bridge opened to public traffic. Public Works director Paul DeVries arrived in Fond du Lac ten years after the bridge opened. DeVries says in addition to improving traffic flow the overpass also improved safety by allowing first responder vehicles to cross over the railroad tracks.
