The Fond du Lac County Emergency Management director is encouraging residents to make sure they are prepared now to stay safe during the winter months ahead. This week is Winter Awareness Week in Wisconsin. Fond du Lac County Emergency Management director Bobbie Hicken says stock up on additional supplies and be prepared when winter storms are expected. Make sure you have an emergency kit at home and in your vehicle with non-perishable food items, a blanket, extra gloves, water. Also have a flashlight, cell phone charger , snow shovel and kitty litter or sand in your vehicle to help give your wheels traction on icy roads in case you get stuck.
