11-23-21 rising turkey prices driving higher cost for thanksgiving meal

Wisconsin residents are digging deeper into their pockets to pay for Thanksgiving  dinner this year.   According to the Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s annual Marketbasket survey, the pri ce of a Thanksgiving meal to serve 10 people is up a whopping 17.25 percent this year.  Farm Bureau spokeswoman Cassie Sonnentag says the price of turkey is driving the huge jump.  The price for a 16 pound turkey was up 40-percent over last year.  Sonnentag says increased costs from processing to transportation have led to increased food prices.
