AAA forecasts a strong rebound in holiday travelers this Thanksgiving. State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmusz says more than 53.4 million people are expected to travel, including nearly a million Wisconsinites, the highest single-year increase since 2005. Jarmusz says in Wisconsin total travel figures are only eight percent below pre-pandemic levels. Gas prices surged in October and are likely to remain elevated through the holiday season. Thanksgiving gas prices haven’t been this high since 2014.
