11-24-21 fdl school district meets expectations in latest school report card

The Fond du Lac School District superintendent says the latest report card has some bright spots, but areas where the district has some work to do.   Overall the Fond du Lac School District met expectations during the 2020-21 school year.  Superintendent Dr. Jeff Fleig says the district needs to work to improve reading and math achievement.  Fleig says the pandemic created  social and emotional challenges for students.

Motorists are heading out today for the long Thanksgiving weekend and area law  enforcement want people to drive carefully so they  reach their destination safely.  Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says slow down and don't follow too closely to the vehicle in front of you.   Schmidt says buckle up and don't drink and drive.

11-24-21 thanksgiving travel forecast

AAA forecasts a strong rebound in holiday travelers this Thanksgiving.   State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmusz says more than 53.4 million people are expected to travel, including nearly a million Wisconsinites, the highest single-year increase since 2005.  Jarmusz says in Wisconsin total travel figures are only eight percent below pre-pandemic levels.  Gas prices surged in October and are likely to remain elevated through the holiday season.  Thanksgiving gas prices haven't been this high […]

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office has positively identified the remains of a decomposed body as a teenager from Rockford, Illinois.   Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says remains found by hunters in a shallow creek  in   the town of Ashford in November 2008 have been positively identified as Amy Marie Yeary.  Waldschmidt says Yeary was 18 years old when she died.   Waldschmidt says positive identification was made by comparing […]

WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — Police say the suspect in a deadly Christmas parade crash in suburban Milwaukee was in a domestic disturbance just minutes before he killed five people and injured 48.
