Wisconsin residents are digging deeper into their pockets to pay for Thanksgiving  dinner this year.   According to the Wisconsin Farm Bureau's annual Marketbasket survey, the pri ce of a Thanksgiving meal to serve 10 people is up a whopping 17.25 percent this year.  Farm Bureau spokeswoman Cassie Sonnentag says the price of turkey is driving the huge jump.  The price for a 16 pound turkey was up 40-percent over last year.  […]

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Authorities say a bull elk was illegally shot and killed on the opening day of the Wisconsin gun deer hunting season. The state Department of Natural Resources says the shooting happened in Columbia County about 7 a.m. Saturday, which was 30 minutes after the official start of deer hunting.
