Fond du Lac High School (FHS) has selected Sam Plucker as the Head Coach of the varsity football program. Plucker currently teaches leadership and modified physical education at FHS, and also serves as the team leader for the Physical Education
Department. He played football at Montana State and Augustana University, and served as an Assistant Coach at UW-Oshkosh from 2018 – 2020 and at Fond du Lac High School for the last two seasons. “Coach Plucker will be an excellent leader for our Cardinal Football program,” said David Michalkiewicz, Athletic Director at Fond du Lac High School. “His experience at both the high school and collegiate level will help him to continue to elevate our program at all levels.” “The main mission of the Fond du Lac Football program will be to use football as a tool to teach life lessons and mold future leaders within our community,” said Sam Plucker. “I am very blessed to have a staff of servant leaders in place who will continue to build meaningful and lifelong relationships with our players on a daily basis. Along with the support of a great coaching staff and administrative team, I am looking forward to serving this community for many years to come!” Dakota Hermes, who served as the Interim Head Coach for a portion of the past football season, will resume his role as an Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator for the team. “On top of the continued success on the field, we look forward to Coach Plucker and his staff creating a culture of selflessness, leadership development and respect,” said Michalkiewicz. “I would like to thank the hiring committee for all of their time and hard work through the hiring process.”
