An investigation into a suspected arson fire continues and a suspect is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail. Division Chief of Fire Prevention with Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue Garth Schumacher says the fire at 302 North Macy Street Tuesday afternoon caused extensive damage to the home. A 40 year old Fond du Lac man was arrested and faces charges of arson and criminal damage to property. Schumacher says the suspect allegedly admitted to starting the fire, but says the Fire Department will continue it’s investigation. Meanwhile, Schumacher says samples collected from the scene have been sent to the state Crime Lab for analysis. Nobody was injured in the fire.
