The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says the latest figures from the state when it comes to COVID-19 vaccinations for children shows that more work needs to be done.   According to the state Department of Health Services about 87,000 Wisconsin children have gotten at least one dose of the two-dose  series, out of about 500,000 children in the state in that age group.  Meanwhile, Mueller says early indications are that the new omicron variant may overtake delta as the dominant strain of the virus.  Mueller says the good news is that again the early  cases of the omicron variant appear to be milder than delta.
