Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul says bipartisan bills signed by governor Tony Evers will help prevent another backlog of untested sexual assault kits from happening again. “The passage of these bills is great news for public safety in Wisconsin,” Kaul told WFDL news. “Making sure that kits are tested is going to make our communities safer and these bills will help make sure that we never have a backlog again.” The bills establish a first-ever process for collecting and tracking sexual assault evidence kits. Kaul says the bills will help get justice for survivors and help put violent criminals behind bars.
