President Joe Biden’s domestic policy package is about half of what he initially proposed. But retired Ripon College economist Paul Schoofs says it’s still one of the largest efforts to expand social services ever. Schoofs says features in the bill that call for universal pre-k education and family leave would probably have the greatest long term economic impact. Schoofs says stricter provisions to transition to clean energy that were left out of the bill would have also had a major impact.
